Although I like Palworld for its guns and long-range weapons, ammo is scarce and sometimes you’ll need to take a hands-on approach to take down Pals and enemies. Here are all melee weapons in Palworld ranked!

Best Melee weapons in Palworld

Below is a list of the best melee weapons in Palworld, classified based on their damage, usefulness, andall the materialsneeded to craft them. Even after you reach higher levels, you’ll still do well to craft a sharp blade or a blunt club to have in your inventory.

12. Wooden Club

The best weapon in the early game, the Club will serve you well taking down low-level Pals like Lamball or Chikipi. For five Wood and one Technology Point you can have a durable and reliable Level 1 melee weapon to get you started.

11. Stone Axe

The Stone Axe is useful for both chopping wood and staving off low-level Pals, and for one Technology Point, you’ll unlock an effective Level 1 resource-gathering tool to help you early on. It’s not the most durable weapon, since it only costs five Stone and Wood each, you’ll easily craft a new one once the first one wears out.

10. Bat

The Level 7 Bat plays out as a beefier Wooden Club you can switch to once you’ve built your own Stone Pit and Logging Camp. As a seventh-tier weapon requiring just one Technology Point, It deals 50 damage and requires 10 Stone and 30 Wood to craft, which is an excellent deal!

9. Stone Spear

Unlocked at level four, the Stone Spear is a melee weapon that lets you keep enemies at a distance while you’re dealing blows. Since you’ll only need two Technology Points, you’ll unlock it early on in the game, and for six Stone and 18 Wood you may’t go wrong.

8. Metal Axe

If you’re tired of crafting Stone Axes every 10 minutes, spend two Technology Points at Level 11 and upgrade to the Metal Axe. Although not as effective in combat as the Stone Spear, the Metal Axe doubles as a resource collecting tool and a useful weapon. It’s also pretty cheap, costing 20 Wood, 15 Stone and five Ingots.

7. Refined Metal Axe

The ultimate tool for the ultimate lumberjack warrior! The Refined Metal Axe is a durable wood chopping tool, but its combat capabilities make it useful in close-quarter clashes. You’ll need to reach Level 34 and spend two Technology Points, as well as put out 40 Wood, 30 Stone and 10 Refined Ingots, but this weapon is well-worth the grind.

6. Meat Cleaver

The Meat Cleaver turns you into a first-class Pal (or Human) butcher thanks to its solid durability and decent damage. Apart from using it in combat, the Level 12 Meat Cleaver lets you take out Pals or Humans in exchange for resource drops, which comes in handy when you’re trying to reduce costs. For two Technology Points, 20 Wood and five Stone and Ingots each, you’ll chop Pals in no-time.

5. Stun Baton

Instead of dealing damage and waiting for a counterattack, you can unlock the Stun Baton for two Technology Points, electrify Pals and capture them faster and easier. You’ll need to reach Level 22 to craft it at your High Quality Workbench, costing you 20 Ingots and Electric Organs each. If you’ve learned about thebest Electric Organ farm, you’ll have a stockpile of Organs ready for crafting.

4. Metal Spear

A decimating and durable weapon, the Metal Spear keeps the enemies at an arm’s length but delivers 80 Damage—perfect for dealing with high-level Pals and Thugs. Head for your High Quality Workbench, spend two Technology Points at Level 13, and gather 27 Wood, 12 Stone and 10 Ingots. You’ll get a great weapon when the enemies get too close for comfort.

3. Refined Metal Spear

At Level 34, you may spend three Technology Points to get a Refined Metal Spear, a more powerful version of the abovementioned weapon. After crafting it at the Production Assembly Line, you’ll get a melee weapon that deals 300 Damage and destroys low and mid-level creatures in a second. The price is hefty, but spending 36 Wood, 18 Stone and 10 Refined Ingots is a deal compared to the stats.

2. Lily’s Spear

The one spear to rule them all.Lily’s Spearis the ultimate pole melee weapon in Palworld, and for good reason: it deals incredible amounts of damage and keeps your enemies at a distance, letting you anticipate their attacks and dodge accordingly.

You’ll need to reach Level 40, spend three Technology Points and spend a bunch of resources (50 Wood, 30 Refined Ingots and 20 Paldium Fragments, Ancient Civilization Parts and High Quality Cloth each). Still, once you’ve defeated your first Pal or Thug using Lily’s Spear, you’ll never want to leave it behind again.

1. Sword

The Sword requires you to reach Level 44 and own all types of Crafting Workbenches. After you spend three Technology Points, gather 30 Refined Ingots and 20 Wood and Stone each, you’ll create a mighty blade that deals a whopping 525 Damage. With the Sword you can engage in firefights knowing that you can switch your approach without losing out on destructiveness. If you’re low on inventory space, the Sword also doubles as a great mining and wood-chopping tool thanks to its excellent durability. The recommendation basically writes itself!
