Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s State of Playgave players a lot of new information about the sequel, including a ton of new minigames. Keep reading as I provide a complete list of minigames in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Complete list of minigames in FF7 Rebirth

Queen’s Blood

A completely new minigame in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is Queen’s Blood. It’s a card game that focuses on1v1 battlesagainst random NPCs in almost all major cities and towns. The minigame looks like a fusion ofTriple Triadfrom Final Fantasy 8 andGwentfrom The Witcher.

G-Bike

G-Bikeis another returning OG minigame, as we’ve seen a glimpse of it in Final Fantasy 7 Remake. However, in this case, it seems like G-Bike is a level-based game where you take control of Cloud while riding his motorcycle, eliminating enemies along the way, similar to the infamous bike chase scene in Remake.

Chocobo Racing

Chocobo Racing is an OG minigame. Now, it’s a rendition ofMario Kartbut with, as you guessed,Chocobos! The level from the State of Play shows that you’re able to takeshortcutssince Cloud and his Chocobo jumped back onto the track.

There are also a couple of items on the left side of the screen, likeSmart Birdie, Back of the Pack, and Fish in Water. My theory on these is they are passives that you can equip on your Chocobo before the start of the race, but we’ll never know until we get our hands on the game.

3D Brawler

3D Brawleris another returning minigame from the original Final Fantasy 7. Here, you take control of Cloud’s polygon version from the original game, and your goal is tooutboxyour opponent. The minigame takes inspiration fromMike Tyson’s Punch-Outfrom the NES.

Based on the footage provided by Square Enix, you can perform aleft or right hook, as well asguard incoming attackswith your analog stick. You can also perform aLimit Breakonce your Limit Gauge fills up.

Desert Rush

Whack-A-Boxreturns to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which Square Enix claimed to be animproved versionof the original one. According to the footage, it seems that boxes will havepowerupsof some sort since we can clearly see a box with alightning logoin the middle, as well asfive lightning slotsbelow the timer.

Run Wild

The football minigame revolves around usingRed XIIIacross the field as he battles it out against three other teams. The minigame’s main mechanic, like any other football game, is toshoot the ball toward the goalof the other team.

From the State of Play video presentation, it seems like there’s onlyone player per team, as Red XIII is constantly being used as a character. The gameplay doesn’t seem to incorporate any special powers or Limit Break shots, but that may change once the game is released.

Dolphin Show

TheDolphin Minigameis a fun and exciting activity for Cloud and the gang while taking a break from the heavy action during their adventures. From the gameplay, you can use theDualSense’s Motion Sensororbuilt-in Gyroscopeto control the Dolphin, and you can even drift while traversing the course.

The goal of the Dolphin minigame is toreach the goalwithin the allotted time. you may collect beach balls along the way while jumping through ramps to further extend the time limit. This minigame takes me back to theSplashdown PS2era, which is a trip down memory lane.

Fort Condor

Fort Condor makes another return, first seen in the original game and Final Fantasy 7 Intermission. The game revolves around anauto-chess and tower-defense hybridwhere you summon units until all enemy towers become neutral.

The Fort Condor minigame has ties to the newProto Relics questline, where you can collect Proto Relics from around the world. If you’re into completing all sidequests and collecting everything in the game, expect you’ll have to play the Fort Condor minigamea couple of times.

Jumpfrog

There’s only a short clip of the Frog Minigame shown in the State of Play showcase for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. From what I can gather, the minigame is similar to aMario Party-styleformat where youplay as a frogand have to survive a spinning blade that will knock you off the platform. As of now, we have no information if this is the only mode in this minigame as it seems to be part of theOdd Jobsquestline.

Pirate’s Rampage

TheShoothouse minigameis the typical one you see in carnivals all over the world. You shoot a couple of targets in afixed positionfor alimited time. The higher you score, the higher your rewards will be. Think of this minigame asResident Evil 4 Remake’s Shooting Range.

Junon Parade

TheShinra Troop RhythmMinigame is a new minigame coming to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It showcases a bunch ofShinra Troops performing synchronous actionsas you command them to the beat. It’s similar to theHoneybee Inn Dance Scenefrom Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and we even seeRed XIIIdancing along with the Shinra Troops.

Galactic Saviors

TheSpaceship minigameis a throwback to old games likeGalaga, but in 3D. You command your own battleship as you battle and claw your way to victory against other ships in space. From the footage by Square Enix, you can perform evasive maneuvers likeBarrel Rolls, heal your ship, and use devastating moves like theProton Bombto give yourself an edge over your enemies.

Piano Performance

As I played through the demo of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, I encountered thePiano Minigame. However, it was only limited to one music sheet, which wasTifa’s Theme. In the full game, I expect we’ll get to play more music sheets along the way (maybe one for each character theme).

The Piano Minigame is a fun andrhythm-based gamewhere you play a bunch of piano notes and time it to the beat. You’ll use youranalog sticksin the minigame, so make sure your DualSense does not have stick drift!

Moogle Mischief

Moogle Mischief is a minigame that unlocks theMoogle Emporium. The minigame is fairly simple: you need to catch or drive themischievous Mooglesback to the “pen.” The only bothersome mechanic is eachmoogle throws out various attacksat you, and if you get hitthree times, the game is over.

Luckily, there’s only one Moogle Emporium per region, so you only need to work on this minigame seven times. On the other hand, clearing the Moogle Mischief increases your Moogle Emporium rank, allowing you to buy more items usingMoogle Medals.

Hustle de Chocobo

Hustle de Chocobois another simple minigame in the Grasslands. It’s basically atime attack racewhere you ride your Chocobo as fast as you may while following the poles in a single lap. You need to beat the time set by Bill, and you’ll get aCrescent Moon Charm.

Card Carnival

Card Carnivalis similar to Chess Puzzles, where you’re given aspecific Queen’s Blood scenario, and the goal is to win the game. You can unlock this minigame at Costa Del Sol while you’re gathering companion cards for your Cloud beach wear.

This is an efficient way oflearning Queen’s Blood deck buildingif you’re having trouble understanding the power of cards that have detrimental effects. It also gives you an insight of how deep the card game can be and how you may quickly turn a losing battle to a winning one.

Wheelie Rendezvous

Wheelie Rendezvousis one of my favorite minigames in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Controversial as that statement may be, I find it hilariously fun to mess around and bump into other Wheelie drivers and random people.

The goal of the game is to simplyreturn the colored wheeliesback to their respective storage location. Although the minigame is simple and people may find it as abraindead task, I enjoyed every ounce of it especially when it triggers my OCD so I can align all of the wheelies in the storage.

Cactuar Caper

Cactuar Caperis another minigame in Costa Del Sol, where it’s basically aCactuar (sort of) hunt. Throughout Costa Del Sol, there arefour hidden Cactuar stickers, and the goal is to find them and take a photo of each one.

Again, it’s supposedly another brain-dead task as you’re given amapthat pins the Cactuar’s location. However, the accompanying character (i.e.Shinra Company Man) has such an interesting personality that I did not find the minigame to be as boring as I thought it would.

Cactuar Crush

Cactuar Crushis a two-minute time attack battle where you need to get a certain score by defeating Cactuars. Each Cactuar hasdifferent colors, which indicate theirweaknesses. You can only useYuffie and Aerithfor this minigame, and it’s available as aPhenomenon Intel for the Corel Region, similar to Fort Condor.

Musclehead Colosseum

Musclehead Museumis basically the Corneo Colosseum Battle of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It works similarly to Chadley’s Combat Battle Simulator and is agood way to farm APsince you’ll be facing numerous amounts of monsters in a single round.
