Metal Gear Solid is a classic action-packed game, and if you want to make the Master Collection better, you might be looking to spice it up with some mods. Below, I’ve made a list of all the best mods forMetal Gear Solid Master Collection.
Top mods for Metal Gear Solid (MGS) Master Collection
Since the game is quite good in its original state, the best mods don’t change much of the gameplay or story aspect of the game but instead refine the audio, graphics, and other textures on top of the Master Collection touch ups.
Installing these mods is quite straight forward, as you will just need toplace them in the game’s directoryfor most, and while some of them have different ways of installation, the modding community does a good job of including the steps for doing so.
Dev Menu
In case you were looking to tinker with the game’s developer options used by the game’s developers themselves, you can usethis modto activate it in all of Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, or 3. It lets yourevive, change yourweapons, andloadout, on top of numerous otherdebugoptions that change how you play the game.
HD Damage Face
While there are a lot of ways to upscale the whole game’s graphics in the Master Collection, you can just fix the existing specific textures in case you aren’t a fan of all polished textures. To make the texture of the facial damage looksmoother, download theHD Damage Faceto make your visual experience a lot more pleasing.
MGS2MC Better Audio
If you’re hearing the game’s audio in cutscenes using a headset, it might not sound exactly the greatest to you; as expected, it is a bit dated. TheMGS2MC Audio Fixfor Metal Gear Solid 2 fixes it for you by making in-game cutscenes or pre-rendered dialogues morecrispandimmersive, giving you a better overall experience while playing the game.
MSG3MC Splitter Face Paint Fix
The splitter face paint in Metal Gear Solid 3 Master Collection is the nicest face paint in the game, unless you look up close and see the low-resolution texture the face paint features. Don’t worry about it, though, because theSplitter Face Paint Fixmod lets you fix this, swapping the texture forhigher quality.

Menu screen and loading icon
You launch the Metal Gear Solid 3 Master Collection but see the same old menu, loading screen, and icons, which ruin your experience as you’re trying to have a refreshed experience of the game. It’s all good sincethis modhas got you covered, with a freshnew menu,icons, andloading screeninstead of the original ones.
MGS2 High Resolution Textures (AI Slop Edition)
This isone of my favoritesfor Metal Gear Solid 2, since not only is it a very high-effort mod, it overhauls the whole visual experience of the game and gives you textures withfour times more qualitythan the original game. The whole mod is going to run you back 17 gigs of storage, something you have to be mindful of.

TheMSGHDFix modworks for all Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3 as it adds support for custom resolutions while even supportingultrawide monitor supporton top of giving youwindowed mode, windowed borderless, and16:9 HUD support resizing for both Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3. You also have the option to skip the intros and adjust anisotropic filtering mode for Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3.
MGS3 High Resolution Textures (AI Slop Edition)
Much like the high-resolution textures mod I included in this list for Metal Gear Solid 2, the Metal Gear Solid 3high-resolution textures modworks in the same way,upscalingmost of the included textures four times, while some are two times their existing size, giving you a muchbetter imageand textures. Just be sure you’ve got enough storage, since the total extract size of this is around 20GB.
MGS3 High Resolution UI Textures (AI Upscaled)
You’re already using the high resolution textures mods I’ve included in this list, and they do a great job of making the game more visually pleasing. However, the on-screen text and icons could still use a bit of work since they’re still of lower quality, or perhaps you don’t want to get higher textures everywhere, just the UI. If so, theMGS3 High Resolution UItextures mod is for you, as it makes theUI look a lot betterthan the original.

MGS3MC Better Audio
Just like the MGS2MC Better Audio mod, theMGS3MC Better Audio modupgrades the original, dated-sounding audio quality of cutscenes and re-rendered movies tosound a lot betterthan they did, so you can have a better experience while playing the game and following the story. If you have an upscaled texture mod, this mod fits perfectly with the whole package, giving you an immersive experience while playing Metal Gear Solid 3.

Each of these mods does well at enhancing your experience while playing the game, and they’re all good at doing what they state.
