When you begin a new character in Last Epoch, you get to choose between either Cycle or Legacy. Your character will be mostly locked to whatever you pick, so you want to make sure to know the differences before making a choice.

How is Cycle different from Legacy in Last Epoch?

Cycle and Legacy in theisometric ARPG Last Epochare similar to Leagues and Standard in Path of Exile.Cycles are temporary seasons of play, while Legacy will continue on forever into the future.

Cycle in Last Epoch

Cycles in Last Epoch will last three or four months before all characters in that Cycle are pushed over to Legacy. Cycles will have leaderboards as well, which will not be included in Legacy. Unlike Path of Exile, it looks like Cycles will be basically identical in-world to Legacy, with the exception of Cycle themes or special items exclusive to the Cycle. Cycles are great for new players to keep them from being overwhelmed by those in Legacy who have been playing for a long time.

Legacy in Last Epoch

Legacy is a long-term world that will not reset every couple of months as Cycle does. Until Cycle characters are moved after the end of the Cycle to Legacy, they cannot interact with Legacy worlds or characters. The upside to playing in Legacy is that you will have a huge leg up over new players, but the reverse is also true: if you are a new player, those that have been playing in Legacy for a long time will have a massive advantage over you.
