One of the big draws in action MMORPGs is the endless loot, but there’s only so much you’re able to carry. An auto salvage system can really help, but does one exist in Diablo 4?

A working auto salvage system will automatically turn low-tier gear that is guaranteed to be worthless to players at a certain level into something useful, such as cash or crafting mats. As this has been a feature in the genre for some time, I’d say it is to be expected in Diable 4.

Is there Auto Salvage in Diablo 4?

The fact is that Blizzardhas introduced an auto salvage system in Diablo 4. However, whether it is working as intended is up for debate within the player base. According to the official patch notes for1.2.0 Build #46228, released on July 21, 2025:

However, some players claimthe system isnot currently working as intended, saying they’re still getting drops in loot tiers they shouldn’t. If this is true, we can only hope it gets tweaked in a further patch update soon.

Players should also notethis is an automatic featureand not something you need to turn on in options. In the unlikely event that you’d want to turn this feature off, unfortunately, that is not an option.
