If you’ve played the first Dragon’s Dogma you may remember the height and weight of your character can affect your gameplay. This is the same for Dragon’s Dogma 2, where character size comes with advantages and disadvantages you’d want to consider when choosing your class.
How weight impacts your character in Dragon’s Dogma 2
The character creation system in Dragon’s Dogma has such depth that allows you to pick from many different body types — which also promotes body diversity —, and each detail you change about the character’s bone structure or body mass has an impact in their weight (always shown in the bottom of the screen). This is not just a cosmetic choice, but weight has an impact on some of your character’s skills in game:

How height impacts your character in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Often, weight goes in correlation to the character’s height. Hence, having a taller frame and longer extremities is one of the ways in which you can increase the character’s bodyweight. This is not the only effect of a taller character, here are other things to have in mind:
Taller characters walk faster. This is because having longer legs gives them a pace advantage; if you are planning on a melee build and need to close gaps quickly, you may want to consider a tall character. Just remember being taller will make you heavier, so you will recover stamina slower overall.
Taller characters are less affected by water depthor liquid terrains. The Drenched debuff, with origin in the first Dragon’s Dogma, makes you take more damage from lightning and ice magic. Although it is a niche situation, a taller character can have some advantage when walking in water.
Shorter characters can fit in small holes. Dragon’s Dogma 1 had goblin holes where characters can fit, depending on their body size. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is expected to have a similar feature, so not everything is a drawback for our short kings.
