Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Phoenix secret boss guide
Recommended Phoenix Party Setup
Phoenixis a hell of a tough boss to beat due to itsmassive health pooland a wide array of A.O.E. spellsthat can decimate your entire party if you’re unprepared. For this battle, I recommend either going with the default setup ofRed XIII, Cloud, and Aerithor following my party setup:
Manaward and Defaithwill allow you to live through the fiery attacks of Phoenix, andBlizzard/Blizzarawill target Phoenix’s weakness. It’s also vital to have at least one level of Cure on two of your party members, asitems are disabledin Chadley’s Combat Simulator.
Phoenix - Phase 1
Phoenix will automatically castBreath of Lifeat the beginning of the fight, followed byBreath of Creation. Here are all of the monsters Phoenix will summon in its first Phase:
If any of the monsters above are alive, Phoenix will almost beinvulnerable to any form of damage, so make sure toeliminate the monsters as they appear one by oneto avoid being overwhelmed in the fight.
After you stagger Phoenix, useTifa and her Unbridled Powerskill to massively increase the stagger multiplier and deal as much damage as possible. you’re able to also commandAerith to start casting Blizzarawhile Phoenix is staggered, so the timing will coincide after Tifa hasincreased the stagger multiplier.
Be on the constant lookout forPhoenix’s Empowering Flameamidst the chaos. This skill willincrease Phoenix’s magic damage. On its second uninterrupted cast, Phoenix will useRebirth Flame, which can and most likely willone-shot your entire partywithout Manaward. To interrupt Empowering Flame, haveCloud and AerithcastBlizzard/Blizzara on Phoenix.

Phoenix - Phase 2
After the first stagger, Phoenix will once again useBreath of Lifeto summon another set of three monsters. This time, the monsters are more powerful and are as follows:
Once you defeat all three, you should be very wary ofEmpowering Flame. CommandAerith to cast Manawardon all of your party members so you’re able to survive theRebirth Flame. If there’s still time, haveTifa cast Defaithas well.
Three scenarios will appear at this stage: failing to interrupt Empowering Flame and surviving Rebirth Flame, failing the entire mission, or interrupting Empowering Flame.
If you manage to survive Rebirth Flame, immediately summon Ramuhto help you fend off three random monsters that Phoenix will summon at the same time. Phoenix is not tethered to any of the three monsters after Rebirth Flame, so it will bevulnerable to attacks.
Of course, the best-case scenario would be to interrupt Empowering Flame. Regardless, Ramuh should be your main focus in dealing damage so you can quickly stagger Phoenix in its second phase.
Do the same cycle withTifa increasing the stagger multiplier, and havingCloud and Aerith cast Blizzard/Blizzarawhile Phoenix is staggered. Alternatively, you can cast yourLimit Breaksat this point to eliminate Phoenix much quicker.
