Individual Values (IVs) are hidden values behind every Pokémon’s stat that determine its growth limit. But despite IVs being an open secret in the PvP scene, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will only introduce it to people who have already finished the game—here’s how to check.

How to get the Judge function in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The Judge function, which is the option that lets you check IVs, automatically unlocks after you’vefinished the game. This is after the credits roll post Area Zero. Justspeak with Nurse Joy, and she’ll tell you that the Judge function is available.

IV terms for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - How are my Pokémon judged?

While the Judge function won’t show you a specific number, they will “judge” each of your Pokémon’s IVs from No Good to Best. The perfect IV is31. This means that a Pokémon with an HP IV of 31 will always have more HP than a Pokémon with an HP IV of 24 of the same species and same level.

If you’re not satisfied with your Pokémon’s IVs, you can breed high IV Pokémon to produce a high-IV. Or, you can simply go to Montenevera andHyper Trainyour Pokémon. Hyper Training is especially crucial to clearing The Indigo Disk DLC content!
