Pacific Drive has a lot of routes to explore, each with its own uniqueconditionsand random occurrences. Some junctions are dead ends and seemingly impossible to escape from unscathed, but they pique my curiosity. Here’s how you can still explore them!

Pacific Drive Dead Ends - How to explore and escape them

While planning a route on the map at the Auto Shop, you may have come across a location that is marked as a ‘dead end.’ These are ordinary junctions with randomized resources and conditions but do not have connecting junctions. For that reason, it will not allow you to plan your end destination at any of these locations. However, they are stillopen for you to enter during your Drive.

The only dilemma is that you cannot escape them once you get there. This may be unclear, but it is entirely intentional with the game’s lore. As you progress through each junction, you leave behind the instability storm, blocking your previous route or making it unstable.

This does leave you in a tough predicament, giving you only a few options to get out of the junction and return to the Auto Shop: beconsumed by the stormorabandon the drive. The only problem with those two options is that you’re bound tolose some of the resources and itemsyou had.

If you’re curious and don’t want to leave any location unexplored, like me, then there is a solution to this problem. you may open yourSettingsmenu, navigate to theGameplaytab, andturn off Failed Run Penalty. This will ensure youdo not lose any items for abandoning a drive or failing to return to the Auto Shop. That way, you can still explore to your heart’s content and not be penalized so much for doing so. You can toggle these settings off any time you want in the Gameplay Options.

Some players feel like the Dead Ends are an unnecessary feature in the game and hope that the developers will patch this in the future. However, it does work with the game’s already harsh, unforgiving survival aspects. What do you think about them?
