Although the root of the “Unable to connect to authentication service” problem could very well stem from your LoL settings, Riot Games has also been known to play the culprit in the past. Change your DNS settings

Changing yourDNSsettings is another way to remove the “Unable to connect to authentication service” bug in League of Legends. To do this, you must swap your current settings out forGoogle Public DNS, which is8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4.
