While the camo challenges for the RGL-80 grenade launcher in Modern Warfare 3 are quite straightforward, they can be tedious to unlock. To unlock the Gilded camo, you need to get kills by hitting the enemy with a direct impact from the grenade launcher.
How to get RGL-80 direct impact kills in Modern Warfare 3
The RGL-80 shoots grenades that explode on impact. For this challenge, you need tohit the target directly with the grenade roundfor this challenge. When you get a kill by hitting the enemy with a direct impact, theDirect Hitmedal will pop up on your screen as I’ve shown in the image above.
If your RGL-80 round lands next to the enemy and you kill them with explosive damage, it will not count towards the challenge. A great way to get direct impact kills is by getting up close to the enemy and using the RGL-80. The round won’t explode, but you’ll still get the elimination.

The best game modes to get direct hit kills with the RGL-80 are Hardpoint, Team Deathmatch, and other respawn-enabled modes. I also suggest playingWar Modefor this challenge. Preferably, you should vote for small-scale maps likeRustandFarm 18, the latter of which is available in MW2 Moshpit. UntilShipmentarrives, these are the best maps to unlock the gold camo on the launcher.
The RGL-80 has limited ammo when you spawn, therefore, you can carry a Munitions Box to replenish whenever the field upgrade is available. The Mag Holster gear also helps as it allows you to reload the grenade launcher faster.
