In order to be able to own more than one Pet, you’ll need to firstmax out your relationship with your current Pet. To do this, ensure you’re petting your animal once everyday and receiving the heart dialogue when you do. Also, there’s the option to fill up the wooden water bowl that sits at the back of the farm. You can check how close you are to full Hearts via the Animals tab on the pause screen.
Once you do get full hearts, you will need towait a day to get correspondence from Marnie, who gave you your first Pet. She’ll send a letter, at which point you’re able to go to her business and adopt a new animal companion. Make sure you have plenty of money, as each new Pet willcost you 40,000 coins.

How to get Outdoor Bowls in Stardew Valley
You will need to give each Pet an Outdoor Bowl item, unless you want them to be unhappy. To get these bowls, you’llgo to Robin, who handles carpentry for your farm and home. She will have the materials to give you another Outdoor Bowl, as well as giving you the ability customize existing bowls.
Once you arrive at Robin’s business, choose the option that saysConstruct Farm Buildings. After some flipping through the catalog, you’ll find the option to add another Pet Bowl. Pet Bowls and Outdoor Bowls are the same item. Choose to either add anew one for 5,000 coins and 25 Hardwood, or customize an existing bowl.
