Swamp Coral can be individually harvested with your hands off the Neon Reef growth. However, the best way to harvest them is to use aVacuum. This can be either a Hand-Vac or a Thermal Vac. You can make a regular Hand-Vac after unlocking the blueprint from the Fabrication Station and using the following materials:

Using the vacuum, you can harvest all pieces of the Swamp Coral at once rather than taking off one piece at a time with your hands. You’ll want to stay stocked up on this to craft some essential upgrades for yourself, like a larger backpack space and protective gear so that when you’re on foot, you don’t take as much radiation damage.
