To start the mode, instead of clicking on the Play button, you will click on the button below it. This will give you an option to choose between Survivor and Killer. Both modifiers will give you an extra percentage of Bloodpoints.

The Lights Out Modifier consists of a unique set of rules different from your standard trial. The most important fact is that the entire map will be shrouded inalmost complete darkness. As someone who loved using the Moonlight offerings to adjust the brightness of maps, I am already enjoying playing this mode a lot.

Apart from how dark the maps are, this mode has additional rules:

Whether you are playing Survivor or Killer, you will find this mode very challenging. Both types of players will have todepend a lot on their hearingto get around maps. All gens will start already progressed so that you can actually locate them easier.

Apart from hearing cues, Killers can still use bloodstains on the ground for tracking, while Survivors can still see the Red Stain of the Killer.

For Killers, my best tip would be to use Killers whose kit still lets you locate Survivors, like theDoctor. Those who usetrapsare also a great idea since Survivors have the tendency to run everywhere. I’m running head-first into the darkness; I don’t care that I can’t see.

As for Survivors, the only thing you can rely on to help you areChests, so make sure you search them all. The Items you find will be more powerful so that you will get more usage out of them. Also, bring in some of the quieter Survivors if you can, as you want to remain hidden as long as possible and not attract the Killer with Bill’s grunting.
