Unicorn Overlord gives you access to a lot of characters to recruit. If you are looking to grab all the units you’re able to to have a good array of available units, here is a breakdown of where to find all of them.
All characters in Unicorn Overlord and how to get them
There are a couple of ways to pick up new units to fight with inUnicorn Overlord: several will join your party automatically, a few that require finishing a quest, some by sparing the life of, and some that will join your party, but only temporarily.

After Call to Action, you will gain access to the overworld and a bunch more units. While you don’t have to get these side characters in this specific order, this is the order in which I found them in my personal playthrough. Be careful to always check for side missions and check forStage Conversationin each area to avoid missing any of these units.

Main story units
At the beginning of Unicorn Overlord, you will pick up a selection of character units automatically. This includesAlain,Chloe,Hodrick,Josef, andLex. In the second main story mission called Call to Action, a few more will join in:Clive,Travis, andAubin.
There is also a unit namedVeronicathat you will automatically gain very early. In the main quest around level 8 (called The Priestess, Abducted), you will also getFran,Kitra, andMiriam. As soon as The Priestess, Abducted is over, you will getScarlet. These are the only permanent units that have joined your party during story missions so far.
