How to get all characters in Deep Rock Galactic Survivor
To unlock any new character, you have to increase your player rank, which is done by completing the main missions and their sub-objectives. There are three biomes in the game, each with its own missions, and when you hover your mouse over, you will see the list of objectives for those missions.

If you manage to complete the level with all the objectives, you will get one player rank for the level and more from individual objectives. This makes things a lot easier since you can get more player ranks in one mission. Here are the required player ranks for each of the characters in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor:
