Grounded got some great new features and reworks with thePlaygrounds update, allowing players to build and share creative experiences with others, but that leaves the question of cross-compatibility.

Grounded is always better when you’re able to bring some friends along for the ride. Although the game is available on multiple platforms to play, including Xbox Gamepass, the big question is, can you play together across platforms like Steam and Xbox? Take a look at all the details below!

Can you play multiplayer cross-platform on Grounded?

The short and sweet answer to the question is—yes, Grounded is absolutely cross-platform. Grounded allows you to play online multiplayer with up to four players and invite other players, no matter if they are playing on PC or Xbox. You can play from Steam to Xbox, and vice versa, as well as through Microsoft. All your saved game data should also be stored in the cloud (as long as you use the same account).

How to play multiplayer crossplay in Grounded

To play online multiplayer across platforms, you will need one player toHost an Online Game, selecting the option from the main menu and waiting for players to join in. Joining players can select theJoin Online Gameoption to hop in. However, they must join manually rather than receive an invite if they are on a different platform. Players on PC will still need toconnect to an Xbox Live Accountto see their friends' hosted game appear on the Games Hosted list or have Xbox players join them. It will prompt you in-game if you still need to connect one, and you can follow the steps through there.

Once you get everything set up correctly, you can hop in and join your friends in an epic shrunken adventure or try out some chaotic new Playgrounds together!
