Lords of the Fallen is a souls-liketitle featuring dual worlds, two-player co-op, and the hardcore combat the genre is known for. The world and enemy design first caught my attention, but I also like playing the game online with my friends, especially since they are better at souls-likes than me. However, with an online game, I was worried Lords of the Fallen would have Denuvo.

What is Denuvo?

Denuvo is ananti-tamper and anti-cheat softwaremany games use. It requires an online verification, so some games may not work until you go online at least once. You may also need to be online periodically to re-verify some games. Additionally, Denuvo can limit modding, which is big in the PC community.

Gamers are hesitant whenever a game uses Denuvo, as it has implications you do not fully own your game. Denuvo has been rumored to cause issues with games such as stuttering, but this is not 100% confirmed. Overall, Denuvo is looked upon poorly, enough that many do not even purchase games using Denuvo.
