MWZ effectively replaces theDMZ game modefeatured in Modern Warfare 2. However, the DMZ format won’t disappear completely. Instead, it’s being integrated into MWZ; with that understanding, MWZ is built on three pillars of content:

MW3 Zombies - Strike Teams and Loadouts
to play MWZ, you’ll need a Strike team of Operators to deploy with. Each Operator has their own gear you can equip them with, and you can recruitany operators unlockedfromModern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3.

Just like in DMZ, you’ll insure much of the gear you find while scavenging in MWZ. Each member of your Strike Team has access to several gear slots to consider when preparing to deploy.
Beyond your equipment, you’ll also have access to special Field Upgrades that exist only in MWZ.
MW3 Zombies - Field Upgrades
The Field Upgrades in MWZ are different from the ones you can use in any other Modern Warfare 3 game mode. These upgrades are specific to MWZ, and are focused on keeping the ever-looming zombie threat at bay for you and your friends. There are a total of six MWZ Field Upgrades.
