In this Rogue Trader build guide for Pasqal, we’ll be supporting his melee and ranged-focused playstyle as a versatile DPS. Due to his unique gear setup, Pasqal can do things other characters cannot so let’s get building.
This build is current to the 1.1.28 patch.
Best Pasqal Build in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader
Pasqal is a Forge WorldOperativeTech Priest by default, but his ideal setup is with Death World background. As such, I highly recommend using the immensely helpfulToybox Modto make the change. Additionally, Toybox will allow you to fully respect your characters, including companions like Pasqal, so that is a secondary benefit.Now, due to the nature of Pasqal’s unique gear situation, he gains access to special abilities and gear privileges no other character in the game (including the Rogue Trader) can use. As such, this build will take full advantage of this by turning him into a DPS machine for both melee and ranged combat. We’ll also seek to improve his survivability a bit (through Talents) so that he isn’t such a glass cannon. Finally, Pasqal can equip a 2-handed Ranged Weapon and a 2-handed Melee Weapon without needing to swap to his second weapon set. We’ll be taking full advantage of this as well.

As Pasqal comes out of the box as a Tech-Priest,Tech-Useis by far his most important Skill.Logicis also a decent alternative option, though I recommend fully investing in Tech-Use so that he can pass any and all Tech-Use Skill checks (there are a lot in the game).

Pasqal is an Operative which is an Archetype that gains a lot of value in using their core abilities.
While this is a relatively simple set of core abilities for Pasqal to use, it is important to note that both of these abilities have a wide range of effectiveness based entirely on the number of Exploits an enemy has at any given moment.

How to play Pasqal in Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader
Despite Pasqal being a Tech-Priest, this build focuses more on his Operative Archetype instead. This is because his Tech Priest abilities, while powerful, are more niche in usage for a DPS-focused build. Since Pasqal favors both Melee and Ranged gameplay, I’ll talk about the game plan for both.
To begin, always open withAnalyse Enemiesto get the Exploit stack train rolling. Remember that the moreExploitson a target, the more damage the next attack from Pasqal will do. From here, you’ll want to decide whether Pasqal should be Melee or Ranged, based on the situation.
Perfect Spotprovides a significant Ranged powerspike to Pasqual as long as he remains in cover in one specific spot, while also providing a sizable boost to survivalability. In areas where there is a lot of cover and there is a large amount of enemies, Pasqal should be taking advantage of Perfect Spot.
When there are fewer enemies, Pasqal should attempt to close distance for Melee combat due to how little it is mitigated in Rogue Trader. Both styles of play make full use of his Operative abilities, making them both viable playstyles at the same time.
