The world of Valheim is full of deadly creatures, and in order to survive, you’ll need to craft the best weapons in the game. If you want to know which weapons are worth spending resources on, this Valheim weapon tier list will point you in the right direction.

All Valheim weapons ranked (Updated tier list)

This tier list comprises every weapon currently available in Valheim. However, most resources in the game are exclusive to certain biomes. This means that Valheim’s best weapons won’t be available to you until the late game; you’ll need to progress through each biome and improve your gear along the way.

Below, you’ll find tier lists for the best weapons for each biome in Valheim. Each weapon is ranked relative only to the other weapons craftable in their respective biomes. For example, while you certainly wouldn’t want to take the Club into theMistlands biome, it’s easily the best weapon you may use starting out in the Meadows.

All Valheim Meadows weapons ranked

As mentioned, the Club outclasses most other weapons you can craft in the Meadows. It’s cheap to craft, has a decent AoE, and deals enough damage for most of the enemies you’ll encounter. However, I recommend keeping a Crude Bow on hand in addition to the Club. Ranged attacks are incredibly useful, especially against Eikthyr, the first boss enemy you’ll face in Valheim.

All Valheim Black Forest weapons ranked

The Bronze Sword is an excellent weapon for the Black Forest. It’s fast, deals decent damage, and allows you tocarry a shield in your off-hand for added defense. However, if you’d rather go on an all-out offensive, the Bronze Atgeir is a two-handed weapon with a large AoE and massive damage potential. Meanwhile, the Finewood Bow is a clear upgrade to the Crude Bow, with better damage and some knockback.

All Valheim Swamp weapons ranked

When it comes to the Swamp, the Iron Mace is a clear winner, boastinga deadly three-hit combo that also staggers enemies. Moreover, several types of enemies in the Swamp are weak to the bludgeoning damage dealt by maces. Like the Bronze Atgeir, however, the Battleaxe offers great damage and a wide AoE in exchange for speed.

All Valheim Mountain weapons ranked

The Draugr Fang tops the list for its accessibility;you can gather most of its required resources in earlier biomes, making it easy to craft once you hit the Mountain. It’s practically required to defeat Moder, the boss enemy of the Mountain, as she can fly and damage you from a distance. Meanwhile, the Flesh Rippers are an excellent weapon even after you leave the Mountain, thanks to their excellent speed. Finally, Frostner is a one-handed club with bludgeoning damage, making it your best option for taking down Mountain-exclusive enemies like Stone Golems.

All Valheim Plains weapons ranked

The Blackmetal Atgeir is an incredible weapon for one simple reason: range. Its long range and devastating three-hit attack combo make it ideal for hitting enemieswithout taking damage yourself. Its secondary attack has a wide AoE and staggers enemies, offering versatility when handling groups of enemies.

All Valheim Mistlands weapons ranked

Most weapons you can craft in the Mistlands are excellent, especially compared to earlier biomes. As the final area in Valheim, however, you’ll want to have the best weapons on-hand to deal with the dangerous enemies you’ll encounter.

TheArbalestis the first and only crossbow you can craft in Valheim, and in my opinion,it is the single best weapon in the game. Its bolts fire faster than arrows, deal a ton of damage, and are much more accurate. As for melee weapons, Himminafl offers the same benefits as the Black Atgeir, only with better stats and a unique lightning attack as a secondary.

All three magical staffs are useful, but while the Staff of Protection is an excellent defensive item,it has no options for actually dealing damage. The offensive staffs are more or less interchangeable in terms of ranking; if you’re willing to sacrifice speed for accuracy, the Staff of Embers deals damage in a wide arc that ends in an AoE explosion. In comparison, the Staff of Frost offers rapid-fire attacks that slow enemies as you hit them. While its accuracy is extremely poor, slowed enemies become much easier to land attacks on.
