Alan Wake 2 Gameplay Details
Unlike the first game, In Alan Wake 2, players can play in the shoes of two unique characters -Alan Wake and Saga Anderson. Alan Wake is the returning writer protagonist from the first installmentwho is still trying to avoid nightmares and change his fate. Sage Anderson is the new character in the series. Developers describe her as an intelligent cop known for solving murder mysteries in the Pacific West.
Studying past games in the genre, we can somewhat predict that the main arc of the game will revolve around the connection between both characters, their relationship, and their strange visions shown in the trailer.
The other biggest surprise is that Alan Wake 2 will not stick with the classic Action genre fitted with horror elements that the first game employed. It will instead switch to a full-on Survival Horror game. Sam Lake, the creative director, said switching genres will really allow them to better align the gameplay with the story.
