How to get a Cardboard Box in Fortnite Chapter 5
The Cardboard Box is aMythicitem in Fortnite Chapter 5, part of the collab with Solid Snake. You can use this item as a special disguise to blend in with your surroundings, but first, you’ll need to find some.
Cardboard Boxes are found anywhere where loot regularly spawns:chests,ground loot, or onfallen players. However, it is a Mythic item, meaning the chances of finding it are much lower. They are found more often inRare Chests, which is why I suggest looking withinVaults.
Vaults often have at least one Rare Chest inside them, so your chances of looting a Cardboard Box will be better than looting regular chests. I found a Cardboard Box right in the Vault at Unmoored Manor after opening the Rare Chest.

Another way to get a Cardboard Box, which I found to be the best, most guaranteed way, is to purchase them with Gold Bars (since there is no guarantee you will always find one in loot). The only NPC selling the Cardboard Box isSolid Snakehimself. You can find him lying low on theisland just north of Lavish Lair(as shown in the image above). He will either be kicking back in a beach chair by the makeshift beach with the bowling pins or wandering around the island.
Interacting with him will give you the option to purchase two different items from him: EMP Stealth Camo or a Cardboard Box. The Cardboard Box will cost you100 Gold Bars. However, he will only have limited stock of both items he is selling. Usually it’s about five items in stock, so try and get one before other players buy them all out. You can also hire him as a companion with 250 Gold Bars. Well worth doing, especially if you’re playing Solos.

How to use a Cardboard Box in Fortnite
The Cardboard Box will be a stack of five in your quick slot and, as a Mythic item, will recharge back up to five after a few minutes. To use a Cardboard Box, select it in your quick slot and press theaimbutton (LT/L2 on controllers or M2 on mouse) to see ablue outlinewhere it will land. Then, press thefirebutton (RT/R2 on controllers or M1 on mouse) to throw it down in that spot.
Once the box is thrown down, you can use it as a hiding spot/disguise. Walk up to it, pressXon Xbox,Squareon PlayStation, orEon PC to hide inside of it. Just like the Snowmandos, you will still be able to move around while wearing it, but you will move much slower.
How to hide in a Cardboard Box for 10 seconds in Fortnite
For your Solid Snake quests, you’ll need to use the Cardboard Box to hide for 10 seconds. The best way to do this is to find the perfect spot toblend in. Since the box can be pretty obvious out in the open, look for a better spot next to other decorations where you will be less noticeable.
Once you find a good spot,throw the Cardbox Box directly at your feetto automatically put it on as a disguise.Crouchdown while wearing the box to hide your legs and feet from showing. Then,stay as still as possibleso players don’t expect a thing. Even if a player passes by, don’t shoot them until you have to. When the 10 seconds are up and the quest shows as complete, jump up and pounce on your unsuspecting prey.
The Cardboard Box can be very useful for laying low and surprising your opponents, but you’ll need to do your part to avoid suspicion. Just like you’re playing a game of Prop Hunt, find a good blending spot, stay still, and cross your fingers that they don’t notice you.
